How can a resume review help me?

The primary service is not to write your resume for you but to give you the tools and guidance you need to improve your current resume. 

You will receive a professional review of your resume that includes specific recommendations for improving the approach, structure, presentation, organization, content, and grammar of your resume. Essentially, you get a guide and a roadmap for reworking your resume into a strong and effective document.
Not only will you receive guidance on how to turn your resume into an effective job searching tool but you will also be given the additional help you need to take your document to the next level.

Since it’s launch in November 2009 as a partnership service between the Return to Roots Program and Blue Ridge PBS’s “JobQuest” program, our Resume Review Program has helped over a 100 individuals update and upgrade their resumes to meet the expectations of today’s employers.

Typically, our clients have not required further help with their resumes after we have completed their first resume review. But if you do need more assistance, that's available, too. How does the process work?

1 – Register and submit your payment of $50 for the service online.

2 - Email your current resume along with any information (i.e. a particular job you are applying for) that will help us review it for you to returntoroots@vebinc.org.

3 - Results will be emailed to you in about 3 - 5 business days.

4 - Receive up to two additional reviews of your resume occur once you have incorporated the recommendations from the initial resume review.
